In order to change 1 3/4 (One and Three-Fourths) to decimal form we need to convert it to a mixed fraction. 1 3/4 as a mixed fraction is 7/4.
We can now divide 7 by 4. We know that since 7 is larger than 4 so we are going to end up with a number greater than 1.
We can divide 7 by 4 with a calculator or do it longhand. In this video I did the division longhand (but checked my answer with a calculator). When we divide 7 by 4 we get 1.75.
