With this paperclip chain necklace I used 16 gauge sterling round wire. I wrapped it around a steel mandrel 32 times. The amount of links I made was able to make a 16 inch necklace. I use shears to snip through the coil and then I soldered the first ring closed. I then used round nose pliers to pull apart a chain to make it elongated continue this process soldering each link to the last. The entire process took around an hour and a half.
