In the ‘70s, Amsterdam's Ferdinand Bolstraat was a major arterial carving through the community, until locals fiercely fought to curb through traffic. After years of metro construction, it was rebuilt and reopened in 2018 as a car-free corridor for people on tram, foot and bike.
