The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS)-Sahara Refund Portal has been launched by Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to enable the processing of refunds for depositors of four Sahara Group Co-operative Societies. Already, around 7 lakh Sahara investors have registered for refunds totalling more than Rs 150 crore. Investments of Rs 10,000 and more can claim refund via the online portal. However, only if a depositor has outstanding dues against deposits before specified dates and if such claims are found to be genuine, is he eligible for a refund.
