The Mercury Cougar being the sister car of the Thunderbird switched over to the MN12 Platform for it Seventh Generation. Mercury had rolled out over 100,000 Cougars per year for 5 consecutive years prior to the MN12 and Ford had spent $2 billion dollars developing this new Platform. The Question is would this investment in a new Platform pay off for Mercury?
