In order to change 2/9 to decimal form we need to divide 2 by 9. We know that since 2 is smaller than 9 we are going to end up with a number less than 1.
We can divide 2/9 with a calculator or do it longhand. In this video I did the division longhand (but checked my answer with a calculator). When we divide 2 by 9, we get 0.2222222 (the 2 keeps repeating). We could also write it as 0.2 with a bar over the 2.
Note that 2/9 and 0.222 ... represent the same quantity, they are just written in different formats.
