As you read through the book of Psalms, you'll see the word Zion showing up quite a bit. So naturally, one of the questions often asked is, what is Zion Theology?
If we're talking just a place on a map, Zion would be equivalent with the city of Jerusalem. Jerusalem and Zion are often referred to in tandem. But really, where Jerusalem is a place on a map, Zion is also an idea that comes with lots of theological language surrounding it and theological imagery.
