Local sellers on Shopee are reaching markets like Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines at no extra cost, with their logistics, warehousing and marketing needs now shouldered by the e-commerce platform. Shopee launched the pilot programme in September last year, with more than 8,000 local sellers signing up. They saw orders and gross merchandise value go up by eight times. Southeast Asia's e-commerce market is expected to grow and estimated to be valued at S$445 billion by 2030. Nadirah Zaidi reports.
