In order to change 7/9 to decimal form we need to divide 7 by 9. We know that since 7 is smaller than 9 we are going to end up with a number less than 1. We can divide 7/9 with a calculator or do it longhand. In this video I did the division longhand (but checked my answer with a calculator). When we divide 7 by 9, we get 0.777 and the 7 keeps repeating. We could write it as 7 with a bar over it to show that it keeps repeating. So: 7/9 = 0.777 ... Note that 7/9 and 0.7777 ... represent the same quantity, they are just written in different formats.
