Evidence:
The author begins the story with a description of the
woman. This description sets the scene that she is a
“large woman with a large purse”.
Reasoning
Since the woman is large, as is her purse, the reader can
see that the boy may have some trouble stealing it. This
illustrates Langston Hughes' use of description to develop
his story.
