My apologies for the angle of this video. I hope it won't keep you from trying these amazing pickles. My parents used to make these when I was a kid, so as I said, this recipe is at least 50 years old.
Here is what you do:
Combine
4 C sliced cucumbers
1 C sliced onion
4 tsp salt
2 tbsp water
Let the mixture sit for two hours, draining off the water periodically
After two hours, add:
3/4 C sugar
1/2 C apple cider vinegar
Sprinkle with fresh dill seed or fresh dill
Pack in freezer safe containers for up to four months
When you are ready to eat them, simply defrost and enjoy.
