The Rick Turner Model 1, designed and given to Lindsey Buckingham in 1979, is one of the most unique guitars ever made. Inspired by cylinder topped guitars from the 1890s, it features a custom wound pickup, special asymetical top and back, and highly customized electronics. Perhaps the most notable, and confusing, feature of the guitar is the rotating pickup. That’s not a soundhole and the guitar isn’t acoustic. Instead that’s a custom wound, humbucking pickup that allows for endless tone options by changing it’s angle. That’s the Rick Turner Model 1.
