I've shared before that I've taught my kids how to say grandma in Cantonese. In Cantonese, family titles are very specific to each family member -- meaning it will tell a person exactly how that person is related to you. For example, if my kids say "po4 po4", then that is specific to my mother as it is the word for a person's maternal grandma.
Maternal Grandma (Cantonese) - po4 po4
Maternal Grandma (Mandarin) - lǎo lao
Paternal Grandma (Cantonese) - maa4 maa4
Paternal Grandma (Mandarin) - nǎi nai
Paternal Grandma (Taiwanese) - amà
Maternal Great Grandma (Cantonese) - taai3 po4
Paternal Great Grandma (Cantonese) - taai3 maa4
Paternal Great Grandma (Taiwanese) - ah-zou
