Following "Late Night with David Letterman" each night, "NBC News Overnight" took over the late night time slot once held by "Tomorrow with Tom Snyder." Or part of it, at least. Linda Ellerbee co-hosted with Lloyd Dobins and later Bill Schechner. With little budget, they had to get creative but they also had a lot of leeway in the wee hours of the morning when they thought no one was watching. At least their bosses weren't.
