I tell anyone who will listen that Oahu is my favorite of the Hawaiian islands. But I know that I'm in the minority - most visitors to Hawaii are put off by the fast pace of the island. But I really think it gets a bad rap.
Once you pull yourself away from Waikiki you'll find lush jungles, sleepy beach towns and hidden restaurants tucked away in the corner of a strip mall.
