Black Sesame Rice Krispie Treats with Matcha White Chocolate
Ingredients:
1½ tsp toasted sesame oil, plus more for greasing
6 Tbsp butter
¼ Cup black sesame seeds, save some for garnishing
10-12 oz. bag marshmallows, based on how sweet you like it
A pinch of kosher salt
6 Cups Rice Krispie cereal
½ tsp matcha powder (food grade)
2 Cups white chocolate
Directions:
1. Grease a square baking pan with sesame oil.
2. In a pan, melt butter over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes. Then reduce this to low heat and add in black sesame seeds.
3. Constantly stir until the seeds are toasted (~1 minute).
4. Add marshmallow and salt, continuously stir for about 5 minutes. Then, turn the heat off and stir in 1½ tsp sesame oil.
5. In a big bowl, combine Rice Krispy cereal and marshmallow mixture. Quickly stir and evenly coat everything.
6. Then, immediately press into the greased pan so that everything is even.
7. Let it cool for before cutting into small squares.
8. While it’s cooling, melt 2 Cups of white chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments and stirring in between.
9. Once fully melted, add 1 tsp of matcha powder and mix so it’s an even color.
10. Drizzle chocolate over the cut Rice Krispie treats and then immediately sprinkle some more black sesame seeds for garnish.
11. Allow it to cool or harden either in the fridge of at room temp.
12. Enjoy for up to 4 days in an air tight container at room temp!
