More than 22,000 people took to the streets of Paris, in a joint protest in solidarity with the people of Palestine and the Kanak people. It is the sixth day in a row that Parisians take to the streets to protest the continuing Israeli war on Gaza, since Israel bombed a camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah on 26 May.
Protesters were heard chanting slogans including “no Olympic Games for the genociders”, “we are all children of Gaza” and “no justice, no peace”.
At the end of the procession spontaneous protests erupted around the city, and police forces fired teargas in an attempt to disperse the demonstrators.
