Michael Jordan is a Professional Basketball player who is widely considered to be the greatest NBA player of all time. He was also the first back to back slam dunk champion in NBA history after winning the 1987 and 1988 NBA Slam Dunk Contests. Michael played his collegiate Basketball at the University of North Carolina. He was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 3rd overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. Michael spent most of his career with the Chicago Bulls where he went on to win 6 NBA Championships.
The 1987 NBA Slam Dunk Contest featured 8 competitors; Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls, Clyde Drexler of the Portland Trailblazers, Johnny Dawkins of the San Antonio Spurs, Terrence Stansbury of the Seattle Supersonics, Ron Harper of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Tom Chambers of the Seattle Supersonics, Gerald Wilkins of the New York Knicks, Jerome Kersey of the Portland Trailblazers. The 1987 Dunk Competition featured memorable dunks by Clyde Drexler, Jerome Kersey and Tyler Stansbury. This competition also featured the unveiling of Michael Jordan’s famous Kiss the Rim Dunk in which he got a score of 50. Michael Jordan took the crown for his first of two Slam Dunk Championships.
