How to Paint Your Outdated Stair Railing:
1. Vacuum and dust thoroughly
2. Clean with a degreaser, I prefer Krud Cutter
3. Fill any divots with Bondo Spot Putty (this isn’t necessary, just makes it more professional)
4. Sand the whole railing with a soft sanding pad using 180 grit.
5. Wipe off all the dust with a wet rag
6. Tape off your painting area
7. Prime the whole railing and spindals with a Shellac Primer (I did two coats)
8. Use a Urethane Enamel Paint, a high quality brush and a premium microfiber 3/8” nap microfiber roller (I did two coats)
9. Remove tape.
Enjoy your refreshed railing!
