When koala detection dog Max gets excited it’s a very good sign.
Max enthusiastically led his Canines for Wildlife trainers, Jack and Lynn, directly to fresh scat, confirming the presence of endangered koalas on conservation agreement property Minimbah, near Nabiac.
The scat was collected and sent off for analysis of genetics and health condition, supporting wider research into the local koala population.
It's great to see this conservation work in action, and the resources from MidCoast Council's koala officer Caitlin Orr and MidCoast 2 Tops Landcare, available to conservation-minded property owners of the region.
