On land, few salamanders can match the size of the (comparatively) enormous Tiger Salamander. These beefy amphibians can grow to about eight inches long, making them one of the largest salamanders in North America. Good luck finding one (except our ambassador animal here, naturally), though, since they spend most of their lives burrowing underground!
