āļø THE QUESTION:
What does Maranatha mean?
====================
šļø THE ANSWER:
Maranatha, it's an Aramaic word. You see it used in 1 Corinthians, chapter 16, verse 22, where Paul says, "Our Lord come." Maranatha can be broken up into two words.
Maran, meaning Lord, and Atha, meaning come. So you're saying, "Our Lord come." It's a word of eschatology. It's a word that's saying, "God, we want you to come back. We expect you to come back." We're looking forward to your return.
You're looking forward to the triumphant return of Jesus Christ and him ushering in his kingdom.
