1. Put the bar on a rack just below knee level
2. Grab the bar with an overhand grip about shoulder-width apart - use wrist straps if needed
3. Start with your knees slightly bent and your back at about a 45-degree angle
4. Stand up by pulling with your lower back and driving your hips forward
5. Lower the bar all the way down to the rack but don't bounce or slam the weight, pause between reps
7. Keep your back flat, don't roll your shoulders forward or bend your arms
8. At the top, roll your shoulders back and squeeze your glutes
