Since 2015, Jeff Guarini has been starring as Lil' Sweet in Diet Dr Pepper television commercials. He is an American singer, musician, actor, host and record producer, who in 2002 was the runner-up on the first season of American Idol.
Although the character of Lil' Sweet is not gay per se, he acts as a free spirit, not afraid to embrace his feminine side. His speech and the accessories he uses (like a little pink car) allude to "the rainbow".
