As of Sunday 1/12/25, the Palisades Fire is 11% contained and has burned over 23,000 acres.
From the Santa Monica Pier perspective, there doesn’t appear to be visible plumes of smoke, however this is still a developing fire and is extremely dangerous especially with the winds picking up.
I just wanted to provide some perspective that the entire city of Los Angeles is NOT fully on fire, the Hollywood sign is NOT destroyed by fire, and the Santa Monica Pier is NOT on fire as some social media posts may make it appear
