Have you ever run into one of those people that insist on calling Jesus by some weird Hebrew version of His name like YAHshua? Some movements even claim that the use of any other name is blasphemy. But, of course, there are two big problems with that idea. First the Bible never gives us a specific name that we’re required to use for Jesus. Second, the Bible itself refers to Jesus by many different names: Immanuel, Son of Man, Prince of Peace, Son of David, and so on. In fact, the authors of the New Testament, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, never use the name YAHshua, or even his actual Hebrew name, which is Yeshua. The New Testament was written in Greek and it refers to Him as Ιησους (Iēsous). So the idea that we can only refer to Jesus using one particular name is just not biblical. That is an entirely man-made idea. DONATE TO OUR MINISTRY (Thank you!) OUR LINKS
