This recipe is salty, sweet, with a little bit of heat. I love the little kick the cayenne gives. These would be perfect for brunch (bloody mary topping anyone?) or a party appetizer.
Candied Bacon Straws
1.5 lbs of bacon
3 TBSP brown sugar
1 TSP cayenne
1) Preheat oven to 300 degrees
2) Roll the strips of bacon like a straw, put on a sheet pan with parchment paper
3) Add the brown sugar & cayenne
4) Put the bacon in the oven for 30 minutes, until golden brown
5) Take out of the oven & place bacon on paper towel to absorb excess fat & crisp up
