No drill press, no problem.
Do I like having a drill press in the shop? Yes.
Do I need it to woodwork? Not at all.
Whether it’s space, budget, preference, just getting started, etc… Not everybody has (or wants) a reliable drill press, and the truth is that you don’t have to have one to woodwork. You would be surprised how easy it is to drill straight holes with a good ol’ brace and bits. The brace can even take the newer type augers like Wood Owl.
