In a month, there were seven drowning deaths attributed to dangerous rip currents on Panama City Beach. Lifeguards say beachgoers are ignoring their warnings and going into the water even when they're told not to. Retired fire captain Richard Alford drowned on the beach after bravely saving the lives of two swimmers who were caught in a rip current.
