The IDF has confirmed that they shot down a cruise missile sent by Shiite militias in Iraq early on Thursday.
The army has described past attacks from Iraq as “from the east," and the missile was originally thought to be a drone, which sounded off sirens.
There was no claim of responsibility from Iran-backed militias in Iraq. The groups have claimed a number of drone attacks on the southern city of Eilat in the last several months.
This all happening as the war between Israel and Hamas continues to intensify in Rafah.
