Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues is a song written by the band's lead singer and guitarist Justin Hayward. It reached number 19 on the UK Singles Chart and 103 in the U.S. chart one year after its first release in 1967. When reissued in 1972 in the U.S. it hit number 2 for 2 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit number 1 on the Cash Box Top 100. It earned a gold certification for sales of over a million U.S. copies.
