This video demonstrates a good basic fritter batter that is used for coating different foods prior to being fried. This batter can be converted to a tempura style batter by adding beaten egg whites to it and also used for fruits, vegetables, fish etc… and the cook has the option of thinning the batter with beer, juices, cream etc… instead of or in addition to the water that’s used here in order to change the flavor makeup to suit the cooking needs of the day. All in all, this is a great versatile batter that should be understood and used as needed.
