Cherry bombs are an old school firework that was often bought by our ancestors (boomers) as fireworks were way less regulated back in the day. You could buy a cherry bombs, ash cans, m80s and all sorts of crazy fireworks before the alphabet boys got involved and ended the fun. Since we can make literally an explosive device, we often make these just for kicks. And people often think we play with fireworks a lot which is a total myth. Fireworks are often made by the lowest bidder and not safe at all. Holding on to one of these devices with a lit fuse is asking to turn your hand into hamburger.
So, we made a simulated hand with a mannequin and stuffed it with cherry jello. Then we taped on a cherry bomb to show you what would happen if one did go off in your hand. It goes about as well as you think. Consider this a PSA on why you should never mess around with fireworks casually.
