National models don’t always resonate in rural Montana towns. That’s why the Make Your Move! Bar Workshop is designed to be delivered by local educators, informed by local research. Make Your Move aims to create opportunities for the greater Missoula, Montana community to change social norms about sexual violence focusing on bystander intervention. The Make Your Move coalition developed bar workshops to better equip bar staff, especially men, with the skills to recognize sexually aggressive behavior, and then intervene safely. Make Your Move is an adaptation of Bringing in the Bystander, which is featured in CDC’s technical packages for preventing sexual and intimate partner violence.
