This is the first major VHS release in almost 20 years, but is it worth $59.99? To me, it feels like a cash grab and nostalgia bait. I think it’s very cool to see. But it makes no sense at $60. That’s an insane price point. A cool collectors item for sure, but at that price, you’re just asking for scalpers to jack it up even higher. I don’t mind VHS tapes making a comeback. But putting a movie like Alien:Romulus, which was shot on IMAX in 2024, on a VHS seems to miss the mark about what VHS collectors and enthusiasts actually enjoy about the format.
