When apples are in season, there’s nothing better than to bake with them! And rather than making a whole pie, this easy apple galette is rustic and stress-free. You’ll love how you get the best of both worlds with this recipe! INGREDIENTS - 1 recipe pie dough - 6 cups cored and 1/4-inch sliced apples (about 4-6 apples) - 1/2 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed - 2 tbsp all-purpose flour - 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice - 1 tsp ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp allspice - 1/4 tsp kosher salt - 1 large egg, whisked - turbinado sugar INSTRUCTIONS 1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. 2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, allspice, and salt. Mix to combine. 3. Roll the chilled pie dough out into an approximately 14-inch circle. Pour the apple filling on the rolled-out dough, leaving a 2-inch empty perimeter. The apples will be piled high but will bake down. Fold the edges of the dough up onto the filling, making creases as needed. Brush the exposed dough with a whisked egg and sprinkle with 2 tsp of raw turbinado sugar. 4. Place the galette in the preheated oven on the bottom rack and bake at 400°F for 45-55 minutes. Remove the galette from the oven and cool completely before slicing and serving.
