Family patriarch George Khan (Om Puri) disowns a son who refuses an arranged marriage, and decides that Tariq (Jimi Mistry) and his brother Abdul (Raji James) will marry, sight unseen, the twin daughters of a Bradford businessman in this 1970s set, BAFTA-winning comedy. Directed by Damien O'Donnell (Inside I'm Dancing), written by Ayub Khan-Din (West is West), and also starring Linda Bassett, Archie Panjabi, Jordan Routledge, Emil Marwa, Chris Bisson, Ian Aspinall, Lesley Nicol and Ruth Jones. A Film4 Production, released in the UK on 5th November 1999.
