High pressure will mostly control NZ’s weather up to this weekend but on Sunday and Monday a cold front moves in and next week looks more dominated by low pressure and wet weather. We’ll have more details on Thursday and Friday about how next week is shaping up, but today we focus on a little wet weather brushing both ends of the country. By Sunday high pressure moves off the country and a windy (but mild) nor’west flow covers many regions with clouds thickening later in the day and rain starting on the West Coast. Overnight and into Monday next week that front crosses NZ with windy westerlies turning cooler southerly in the deep south later. It’s a changeable weather forecast coming up - but for the next few days many regions are quite settled (even if a bit cloudy).
