Russia's TASS reports that the Admiral Nakhimov, a nuclear-powered heavy cruiser, is scheduled to undergo tests from September 2023. After the testing phase, the Russian Navy plans to return the Admiral Nakhimov to active service in late 2024. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the warship is undergoing repair and strengthening to integrate advanced high-precision long-range weaponry, including the Zircon supersonic anti-ship missile. These upgrades are intended to significantly increase the ship's offensive capabilities. Admiral Nakhimov, Equipped with an upgraded Fort-M long-range air defense system, Admiral Nakhimov is currently in the process of replacing the P-700 Granit launcher with a multi-purpose vertical launcher. The new launcher will accommodate the Kalibr-NK land attack cruise missile complex, with a range of 2,500 kilometers.
