So let's talk about why we shouldn't just place baby inside those front two pieces! ✔️ First off, it was never tested or designed to be worn that way! Especially when it comes to newborns, they need SUPPORT! ✔️ Those two pieces of fabric that come up are more of a aesthetic or decorative piece than a truly supportive piece. They are not adjustable and do not allow for a secure fit for baby. This was evident in the person's video as baby was slumped inside. Of course, this can happen anytime, but it is a sign that the fabric is too loose. Since you cannot adjust these two pieces to become tighter, it's not going to work to keep them safe! ✔️ While you can absolutely spread that fabric out over baby's back to provide even more support, you shouldn't need to (don't need to) when used properly. This carrier is essentially a slightly stretchy half buckle carrier. It's a little bit different in design, but the basic concept is there. The support needed should be provided from the main panel which is why that entire piece needs to come up over baby's back! If you had this carrier, did you find it confusing to use?
