The session aimed to bring greater understanding of what safeguarding and (the prevention of) Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harassment (SEAH) means for the aid sector in Pakistan today.
The panellists reflected on underlying reasons and causes of SEAH in Pakistan as well as discuss SEAH issues faced by the sector both globally and at national level. The panellists reflected on factors that enable SEAH to persist, linked with deep-rooted gender inequalities, customs and cultural practices, and on what works in strengthening responses to SEAH along with social behavioural change strategies. The panellists shared practical suggestions and advice for adopting a preventative approach to tackling SEAH in Pakistan.
