A golden floppy disk becomes a prophetic device through which a young Ghanaian girl living in England, Ama, rediscovers her African identity. She learns its contents at the office where her mother cleans. The disk, through magic realism and by way of ancestors, warns her of the dangers of forgetting one's heritage. Directed by Nii Kwate Owoo and Kwesi Owusu The restored director's cut of "Ama" premieres at the 30th New York African Film Festival in May 2023. Learn more:
