Mention the phrase 'three-hour tour' and most people will immediately recall a theme that not only entertained viewers, but also explained the premise for newcomers. The first season was black and white and the theme had one problem: several characters weren't mentioned. They were referred to as 'and the rest'. (Russell Johnson and Dawn Wells would often refer to themselves as 'the rest' when on set.) That was remedied when The Professor and Mary Ann were added to the lyrics.
