*Overview*
The goal of this Rom Modification is to give Sonic 2 a new level of replay-ability, as such, what the creator has changed from the base game is the palettes in each zone, modified most layouts to add new paths and fix any oversights found in the original game, modified most of the monitors to contain different stuff, added SK style ducking and Sonic CD style roll jump behaviour, and fixed pretty much a lot of numerous bugs.

Four years later, Sonic 2 Encore is finally back with an update. There isn't exactly any specific details about what's changed, however there's only 2 things that are noted (which are mentioned in the post with the update).
