All southbound Interstate 5 lanes are reopened after a 45-vehicle crash just south of SR 516 in Kent caused an hours-long traffic jam Sunday afternoon.
The traffic backup reached a little over 5 miles and began to shrink as the lanes reopened.
WSP Trooper Rick Johnson said the crashes were caused by drivers going too fast and not the road or weather conditions.
