In the 1960s botanists from the University of Florida created a hybrid mango between the Kent and Edward cultivars. The Edward is prized for it's flavor but is a stubborn producer. The Kent is an amazing and consistent producer and also very high quality flavor. The Edward Kent hybrid gives me a tree the produces mangos that taste as good as the Edward but with the productivity of a Kent.
