If you are re-siliconing around a bath, shower enclosure or in the kitchen, it's a good idea to remove as much silicone as you can, particularly if the existing silicione has gone mouldy or is susceptible to mildew build up.
However, there are situations where it's not necessary to remove the silicone as I will be explaining in this video.
