Here are 5 Important things to know before visiting Medellin:
✈️Airport: The airport is located outside the city, approximately a 35-minute drive from Poblado. An Uber ride to the surrounding areas typically costs around 100,000 COP (about 20 USD)
🌇Explore the city: While it’s tempting to stay within Poblado, we highly recommend exploring nearby cities such as Comuna 13, Laureles, and Envigado, as they also have plenty to offer.
🗻Guatape: It is best to avoid Guatape on weekends due to the high influx of tourists and crowds, which can lead to long lines, traffic, and difficulty finding accommodations.
🇨🇴Spanish: Colombians are very friendly and will usually try and have a chat with you, so it’s good to brush up on your Spanish and communicate with locals. Bonus points if you know how to dance salsa.
👨🏽🦯Tinder: While you can have positive experiences on the app here, there are bad actors on the app that take advantage of gullible tourists. Be smart & If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.
