As my robots get smaller and more precise, miniaturizing the motor controller becomes inevitable. Here’s my attempt to develop a field-oriented controller for small brushless DC motors.
The controller is built on a compact 4-layer, 24x24mm PCB, featuring the smallest components I could find, including a 16-bit absolute angle sensor, dual-channel MOSFETs, and tiny flat connectors. There’s still plenty of room for further miniaturization, but first, let’s see what this thing can do.
