Wonder what you can do on a day trip to Hiroshima, Japan?
@blasito_loquito and I took a 2 hour bullet train ride from Kyoto to Hiroshima early in the morning. (corrected time)
We arrived at Hiroshima station and took the metro to a port and took a ferry to Miyajima island.
This island has so much fresh food and pastries, it's also famous for the Floating Tori gate which you see in High tide but can actually walk up to during low tide.
We then went back to Hiroshima and did a variety of things before heading back.
We found a restaurant that served Okonomiyaki, a local cuisine from Hiroshima and Osaka.
We waited a long line to enter the Peace Museum, which I highly recommend! Right next to it is the Atomic Dome, the only structure that remain standing after Little Boy detonated above the city in Aug 15, 1945.
After the long day, we took the evening Shinkansen back to Kyoto.
